The Story in 60 Seconds

Leeds United have entered the race to sign Rennes striker Esteban Lepaul ahead of the January transfer window, according to a report from TEAMtalk. The Whites previously checked on the 26-year-old French forward during the summer transfer window. However, Daniel Farke's side reportedly faces stiff competition for his signature from fellow Premier League clubs Everton and Aston Villa.

Lepaul recently signed a contract extension with Rennes that keeps him at Roazhon Park until 2030. The centre-forward won the Ligue 1 Golden Boot last season after scoring 21 goals and registering five assists in 32 appearances. Leeds are considering the permanent addition to reinforce an attack currently led by Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Lukas Nmecha.
