Liverpool forward Alexander Isak scored the opening goal against Bournemouth in the 57th minute at the Vitality Stadium. The goal was set up by Cody Gakpo, who beat Adrien Truffert on the right flank to deliver the cross. BBC Radio 5 Live pundit Rob Green praised Gakpo for his persistence and brilliant work in creating the opportunity.
This goal marks Isak's fourth of the season, with all four being assisted by Gakpo. The match also featured a key first-half save by Alisson Becker from Bournemouth's Evanilson. Liverpool manager Andoni Iraola's side had previously resisted summer transfer interest from Manchester City for Gakpo.
