Liverpool teenager Josh Abe has received an England U17s call-up from former Liverpool U21s coach Barry Lewtas. The 16-year-old was selected for upcoming Euro qualifying fixtures against Montenegro, Poland, and Ukraine, despite being sidelined for two months following shoulder surgery.
Liverpool U18s coach Simon Wiles confirmed Abe recently returned to academy training. Abe signed a scholarship deal with Liverpool over the summer, choosing the club over other lucrative offers. The call-up comes alongside international selections for fellow academy talents, including Rio Ngumoha, Trey Nyoni, Will Wright, and Erik Farkas.
