Jurgen Klopp makes ‘unfortunate’ Florian Wirtz claim after backtracking as Liverpool wish shared

Germany manager Jurgen Klopp defended Liverpool playmaker Florian Wirtz after calling him up early to the national team squad. Following injuries to Jamal Musiala and Kai Havertz during a 1-1 draw against the Netherlands, Klopp added Wirtz and Eintracht Frankfurt forward Jonathan Burkardt to the roster for upcoming Nations League fixtures.

Klopp emphasized that Wirtz joined Liverpool during a difficult period following the passing of Diogo Jota. The 23-year-old playmaker has recorded one assist and no goals in six appearances for Liverpool this season, with Klopp aiming to build up his form before returning him to the club.
