Liverpool captain Virgil van Dijk surpassed a memorable milestone with the Netherlands

Liverpool defender Virgil van Dijk marked his 100th international cap by captaining the Netherlands to a 2-1 Nations League victory. Before kickoff, the 35-year-old shared a special pre-match moment by walking onto the pitch with his son, who carried the nation's pennant. Van Dijk became only the 11th male Dutch player to reach the century milestone.
Goals from Teun Koopmeiners and Joshua Zirkzee secured the win, while Mihajlo Cvetković scored for the opposition. The victory moved manager Xavi's Dutch team to the top of Group B, level on points with Greece. Xavi praised Van Dijk's leadership and confirmed the team would celebrate his achievement after the match.
