Liverpool will return to European action in midweek but transfer talk is also on the table as we edge towards the January window

Bayern Munich president Herbert Hainer has dismissed reports of a January move for Liverpool midfielder Florian Wirtz, stating the club is satisfied with its current attacking options. While acknowledging Wirtz's difficult start at Anfield following his transfer from Bayer Leverkusen, Hainer expressed sympathy for the German international but confirmed that signing him is not an issue under consideration for the Bundesliga side.
Meanwhile, agent Felix Tainta addressed why Spain winger Nico Williams rejected a permanent transfer to Liverpool and other elite clubs. Tainta explained that Williams prioritized guaranteed regular playing time at Athletic Bilbao to safeguard his international prospects ahead of the World Cup, ultimately leading him to sign a long-term contract extension in 2025.
