Virgil van Dijk has criticised the officials after Liverpool were denied a 'clear penalty' in defeat to Arsenal.

Virgil van Dijk criticized match officials after Liverpool were denied what he deemed a clear penalty during a 1-0 defeat to Arsenal at Anfield. Kai Havertz scored the decisive goal to snap Liverpool's recent run, while Van Dijk insisted that a shirt pull by Jurrien Timber on Alexander Isak inside the penalty area warranted a foul.
Manager Andoni Iraola echoed Van Dijk's frustrations, stating that players are effectively penalized for staying on their feet rather than diving. Van Dijk noted that with numerous camera angles available, officials should have spotted the incident, though he conceded Liverpool did not do enough overall to win the match.
