Liverpool are waiting to discover the extent of the injury which precluded Jeremy Jacquet from featuring for France in their 4-1 win over Belgium on Monday night. The Reds defender was given his first two senior caps for his country…

France head coach Zinedine Zidane confirmed that Liverpool defender Jeremy Jacquet was slightly injured and missed the 4-1 victory against Belgium due to a left hamstring strain. Zidane explained that he needed to manage player workloads after four matches in 11 days. The 21-year-old will now return to Merseyside to undergo further medical assessment.
Liverpool face Premier League leaders Manchester City on Sunday and are hopeful Jacquet can recover in time. The Reds are already expected to be without Cody Gakpo following an injury sustained while playing for the Netherlands.
