Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano was grilled on television moments after the Premier League confirmed the club were guilty of the most serious breaches of the financial rules.

Manchester City chief executive Ferran Soriano was confronted on camera by Sky News reporter Rob Harris after an independent commission found the club guilty of serious financial breaches. Approached at a European Football Clubs meeting in Copenhagen, Soriano repeatedly refused to answer questions about whether City cheated or operated as a 'sham club.' Meanwhile, a separate defiant video message Soriano sent to club staff drew scrutiny from fans online, who questioned whether the unblinking footage was generated or edited using AI.
The independent panel ruled that Manchester City disguised £900 million in payments across nine years to bypass spending rules, finding them guilty of all major charges. Soriano insisted to staff that the accusations are a 'conspiracy theory' and confirmed the club will appeal the ruling.
