Chair David Kogan insists regulator has power to actCity have appealed against Premier League’s chargesThe Independent Football Regulator (IFR) will have “absolute power” to force Manchester City’s owners to sell if they are ultimately found to have run the club…

The Independent Football Regulator possesses the "absolute power" to compel Manchester City's owners to sell the club if misconduct findings are upheld, according to watchdog chair David Kogan. Manchester City were previously found guilty by an independent commission of circumventing Premier League rules through over £900m in improper commercial arrangements, though the club is currently appealing the decision.
Speaking on The Rest Is Football podcast, Kogan noted that any regulatory action remains premature during the ongoing appeal process. He affirmed that the regulator could order an owner to step aside if the club is not run with propriety, while also pledging to resign if political interference arises amid concerns regarding UK-UAE diplomatic relations.
