Manchester City were found guilty of all charges

Culture Secretary Lisa Nandy has warned that Manchester City could face expulsion from the Premier League after an independent commission found the club guilty of all financial charges brought against it. The Premier League confirmed that City committed widespread financial violations between the 2009-10 and 2017-18 seasons, including using sham commercial arrangements to hide funding sources. Speaking to Channel 5 News, Nandy emphasized that while City is entitled to a fair appeal process, the potential ultimate sanction of league expulsion is very serious.
Former Manchester City chairman David Bernstein reacted to the findings on BBC Radio 5 Live, calling the conclusions damning and urging that the club's board members be suspended immediately. Bernstein argued that any punishment must go beyond mere financial penalties if an appeal fails. Meanwhile, Manchester City confirmed it intends to appeal the decision, claiming the ruling contains clear material errors of law, principle, and fact.
