The PSG boss defended City ahead of their Champions League meeting saying they deserved to win the trophies they have after being ‘incredible’ on the pitch

Paris Saint-Germain manager Luis Enrique stated he hopes Manchester City can avoid sanctions after being found guilty of 114 Premier League financial rule breaches. Speaking ahead of a Champions League match between PSG and City at the Etihad Stadium, he defended the club's on-pitch achievements and argued they deserved every piece of silverware they won during that era.
Manchester City are appealing the independent commission's verdict, which determined they received over £900m in disguised funding between 2009 and 2018. Luis Enrique also backed former manager Pep Guardiola, asserting that titles won on the pitch should not be stripped.
