Brighton secured a 1-0 victory against Manchester City at Etihad Stadium, bouncing back from their midweek Carabao Cup loss to the same opponents. Goalkeeper Bart Verbruggen delivered a standout performance, making seven crucial saves to keep a clean sheet and earn praise from head coach Fabian Hurzeler for spreading belief throughout the squad.
Manchester City generated significant opportunities but failed to convert 21 shots on target, leaving head coach Enzo Maresca to address their finishing woes. Supported by strong central defending from Lewis Dunk and Luka Vuskovic, Brighton moved to third in the Premier League table, trailing leaders Arsenal and City by just two points.
