Manchester City have been found guilty of breaches of the Premier League's financial rules, with MEN readers having their say on what punishment the club should see as a result

Manchester Evening News readers have voted on potential punishments for Manchester City following an independent panel's guilty verdict regarding Premier League financial rule breaches. A poll of over 16,600 readers revealed that 40 percent favored a combination of stripping titles won between 2009 and 2018, relegation, and a substantial fine. Manchester City are expected to appeal the ruling, having maintained their innocence throughout the proceedings.
The poll also showed that 35 percent of voters believe no punishment will ultimately occur due to the appeals process. Meanwhile, pundit Gary Neville argued on Stick to Football that the most appropriate and severe consequence would be forcing out the club's ownership.
