England manager Thomas Tuchel admitted having a bad conscience for failing to check on Manchester City players in his squad following the Premier League's guilty verdict against their club. The verdict addressed significant financial breaches between 2009 and 2018. Tuchel explained that he had been entirely focused on preparing England for their 2-0 Nations League victory against Czechia in Prague.

Tuchel also suggested Jude Bellingham could eventually become England's permanent captain after the midfielder wore the armband following Harry Kane's substitution.
