Lee Sharpe believes Kobbie Mainoo has been Manchester United's best player this season and must be guaranteed a place in midfield.

Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe has urged head coach Michael Carrick to build the team's midfield around Kobbie Mainoo. In an interview published by The Peoples Person, Sharpe described Mainoo as United's best player this season, noting that his versatility, passing, and ball-winning abilities make him an indispensable starter in Carrick's preferred setup.
Sharpe stated that Carrick's choice for the second midfield spot between Youri Tielemans and Carlos Baleba should depend on specific match requirements. While Tielemans provides passing control and experience, Baleba offers athletic qualities to break up play, with Sharpe suggesting Carrick alternate between them based on individual opponents.
