Former Manchester United ace Dwight Yorke has publicly thrown his hat in the ring for a top managerial position, which is currently vacant.

Former Manchester United striker Dwight Yorke has publicly declared his interest in becoming the next manager of the Ghana national team. The Black Stars position became vacant following the resignation of former United coach Carlos Queiroz after a disappointing campaign at the 2026 World Cup.
Speaking to Asempa FM, Yorke cited the rich history of Ghanaian football and encouragement from former player Sammy Kuffour as reasons for his interest. A five-man committee formed by the Ghana Football Association and Sports Ministry is currently leading the search for a new head coach.
