Fabregas and Como prepare for historic Man Utd tie

Cesc Fabregas and Italian side Como are preparing to host Manchester United in what club staff have described as the biggest night in the club's history. Como earned qualification for the Champions League after Fabregas guided the team to a fourth-place finish in Serie A during the 2025-26 season. The match marks a dramatic turnaround for the Italian club, which competed in semi-professional Serie D as recently as 2017 before being acquired in 2019 by Indonesian billionaire brothers Robert Budi Hartono and Michael Bambang Hartono.

Manchester United travel to the Stadio Giuseppe Sinigaglia amidst a six-game winless streak, their worst run of form since the 2018-19 season. Despite the fixture's high profile, Como chief executive Mirwan Surwaso addressed potential scrutiny regarding UEFA financial rules, maintaining that the club's financial books are completely in order.
