The former Premier League star turned down a host of top clubs in favour of Manchester United and didn't even know his wages when he joined

Former striker Dion Dublin revealed he turned down Chelsea and Everton to sign for Manchester United in 1992 without knowing his wage. Speaking on the In The Mixer podcast, Dublin explained that meetings with Chelsea manager Ian Porterfield and Everton boss Howard Kendall were followed by a tour of Old Trafford with Sir Alex Ferguson, which immediately convinced him to join the club.
Manchester United signed Dublin from Cambridge United for £1million on a permanent transfer. Although a broken leg limited his United spell to just 17 appearances, Dublin later earned substantial raises during successful stints with Coventry City and Aston Villa, eventually reaching £35,000 per week.
