‘If it was punishment for the words, it was right’ Carrick hails ‘magical’ Old Trafford after comeback win Bruno Fernandes said Michael Carrick was correct to drop him last month as he reflected on a remarkable Manchester United comeback win…
Bruno Fernandes stated that Manchester United manager Michael Carrick was right to drop him following his poor form and public criticism of team tactics. Fernandes returned to spark United's comeback from 2-0 down to defeat Roma, scoring a twice-taken penalty before Matheus Cunha secured a brace to end a nine-game winless run.
Fernandes had been benched against Bournemouth after criticizing tactics following a 4-1 Champions League defeat against Como. The victory marked United's first win in ten matches across all competitions, with nineteen-year-old substitute Shea Lacey providing the assist for Cunha's decisive winning goal.
