Man United latest: Sir Jim Ratcliffe’s next manager ‘pick’ as key requirement emerges

Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly favors appointing Eddie Howe as Manchester United's next manager if Michael Carrick departs. Carrick is under mounting pressure following a 3-0 home defeat to Bournemouth, which extended United's winless run to eight matches. Ratcliffe is keen to install an English manager and is inclined to back director of football Jason Wilcox's preference for Howe, who is currently a free agent after leaving Newcastle.

The board remains divided, with head of recruitment Christopher Vivell reportedly preferring Julian Nagelsmann. Should Manchester United pursue Howe, a key condition would likely involve allowing him to bring his trusted coaching staff, including Jason Tindall, Graeme Jones, Stephen Purches, and Simon Weatherstone.
