Man United-linked managers and boss ‘loved by club chief’ as Michael Carrick pressure builds

Manchester United have been linked with Fabian Hurzeler, Julian Nagelsmann, and Antonio Conte as potential replacements for manager Michael Carrick. Pressure has intensified on Carrick following a 4-1 European defeat against Como, extending United's winless streak to seven matches across all competitions. Intermediaries have reportedly approached United regarding Conte, while Fabrizio Romano reports Hurzeler is highly appreciated by a club executive.

Tensions have escalated within the squad following public disagreements between Carrick and captain Bruno Fernandes over tactical decisions and work rate. Lisandro Martinez previously raised concerns about dressing room morale after a loss to Atletico Madrid. United now face a difficult fixture run leading into November against opponents including Chelsea, Roma, and Liverpool.
