The Story in 60 Seconds

Transport bosses have warned Manchester United supporters to set off an hour earlier than usual for their Premier League match against Bournemouth on Sunday, October 25. For the first time in over a decade, no Metrolink trams will serve Old Trafford on a matchday due to line closures for major improvement works on the Altrincham, Trafford Park, and Eccles lines.

In response, Transport for Greater Manchester is operating dedicated shuttle bus services to the stadium from Piccadilly Gardens, Altrincham Interchange, and the Trafford Centre. Metrolink Network Director Ian Davies apologized for the disruption, noting that the works are essential, while urging fans to plan ahead and utilize the replacement buses and alternative rail routes.
