Former Manchester United defender Marcos Rojo is refusing to train with Racing Club as he attempts to force a transfer back to his former team, Estudiantes. The 36-year-old wants to finish his playing career at his boyhood club, but his push to leave has sparked a dispute with Racing officials following a heated meeting with club chairman Diego Milito.
Estudiantes, led by chairman Juan Sebastian Veron, are urgently seeking defensive reinforcements ahead of their Copa Libertadores semi-final against Flamengo on October 15. Although Rojo remains under contract with Racing until the end of 2026, tournament rules would permit Estudiantes to register the center-back immediately.
