Michael Carrick reacts to Pro Ref apology for Man City goal vs Manchester United

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has reacted to refereeing body Pro Ref's apology following a VAR error in the Manchester derby. Pro Ref admitted to an "error of judgment" in allowing Erling Haaland's winning goal to stand at Old Trafford. The refereeing body conceded that Enzo Fernandez was interfering with play from an offside position and that an on-field review should have been recommended.

Carrick admitted the mistake was particularly tough to take but emphasized the importance of moving on from the controversy. Despite his frustration, Carrick stated he still has faith in the VAR system. Manchester United club chiefs appreciated the apology and explanation from Pro Ref and decided to take no further action.
