Manchester United's pursuit of Barcelona star Dani Olmo as a potential Bruno Fernandes successor appears to have taken a complicated turn.

Barcelona could make Alejandro Balde, Frenkie de Jong, and Jules Kounde available for permanent transfer in January due to financial pressure, according to journalist Mark Brus. However, Brus dismissed reports linking Manchester United with Dani Olmo, stating the Spanish midfielder is not expected to leave as manager Hansi Flick considers him essential.
Manchester United are currently seeking succession options for Bruno Fernandes, whose contract is entering its final months. While Morgan Gibbs-White and Aleksey Batrakov have also been scouted, Olmo remains unavailable despite United's reported long-term interest in the playmaker.
