After salvaging a point for Man United in the 1-1 draw with Fulham, a bullish Matheus Cunha sent a defiant message to the club's criticis.

Manchester United salvaged a 1-1 draw against Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday after Matheus Cunha scored a deflected equalizer past Bernd Leno. Michael Carrick's side had fallen behind in the 63rd minute following an own goal by defender Lisandro Martinez, avoiding what would have been a third consecutive defeat.
Speaking after the match, Cunha dismissed outside criticism by reminding reporters that Manchester United were heavily doubted last season before eventually recovering to finish third. Meanwhile, manager Michael Carrick rejected suggestions that his team lacked energy, despite Cunha conceding that something felt off during the performance.
