Lee Sharpe has backed Michael Carrick to revive Manchester United's season while naming Eddie Howe among his top three potential replacements.
Former Manchester United winger Lee Sharpe has identified Eddie Howe as an "amazing" potential replacement for manager Michael Carrick if the club makes a change. Speaking to The Peoples Person, Sharpe emphasized that he wants Carrick to keep his job and turn around the club's difficult start to the season, but noted Howe would rank in his top three candidates.
Sharpe suggested that a lack of preseason fitness work and insufficient transfer backing contributed to United's early struggles. However, he expects the squad to regroup during a three-week break and recover their form, pointing out that Carrick already has valuable assets such as Kobbie Mainoo and Joshua Zirkzee to build around.
