Michael Carrick fires back at Jamie Carragher as Man Utd boss makes honest admission on future

Manchester United manager Michael Carrick has dismissed Jamie Carragher's claim that he wants to be relieved of his duties, insisting he still relishes managing the club. Carrick faces mounting pressure ahead of Saturday's match against Chelsea, with United sitting 16th in the Premier League after securing just seven points from their opening eight matches.

Carrick held crisis talks with director of football Jason Wilcox following a 3-0 home defeat against Bournemouth, after which United reportedly explored managerial replacements including Eddie Howe, Julian Nagelsmann, and Antonio Conte. Carrick stated he does not need assurances about his future and remains entirely focused on turning around the club's poor form.
