Newcastle United right-back Amar Dedic is unlikely to face club punishment after an armed police response was triggered by him carrying a bow and arrow in the Northumberland countryside. The Bosnia international was pursued home by six patrol cars on Wednesday, but he is still expected to start Saturday's Premier League match against Fulham.
Northumbria Police seized the equipment from Dedic's car boot, confirming the weapons were for recreational use with no public threat. Teammate Mark Gillespie and former defender Paul Dummett reportedly helped defuse the situation, while Newcastle officials view Dedic's actions as naive.
