Newcastle United's Dan Burn has revealed all on his battles with suicidal thoughts and what he did to stop them from impacting his life…

Newcastle United defender Dan Burn has shared his past struggles with severe mental health issues and suicidal thoughts during his early career at Fulham. Burn revealed in an interview that isolation, limited playing time following relegation, and his parents' divorce severely affected him, leading to intense health anxiety and a moment where he broke down crying in a car park before a match.
After confiding in his mother and staff at Fulham, Burn received professional help and developed coping mechanisms to manage triggers and safeguard his well-being. Since overcoming those difficult periods, the 34-year-old rejoined Newcastle United in 2022, played in the Champions League, and previously featured in Thomas Tuchel's England World Cup squad.
