Newcastle United has recalled 18-year-old goalkeeper Tyler Jones from his loan spell at Dunston. The young shot-stopper won all six games he started during his latest stint, concluding his time there with a 3-1 victory against Ossett United before returning to Newcastle to challenge for playing time in Robbie Stockdale's Under-21 squad.
Dunston manager Jon McDonald praised Jones as outstanding, highlighting his physical and mental growth and predicting his assured mentality will take him far in football. Jones now faces fierce competition within Newcastle's academy ranks, which also features young talents like Roman Dowell and George Mair.
