The young Dutch midfielder is looking to force his way into Matthias Jaissle's first-team plans at Fulham…

Stuart Jamieson argues that Newcastle United midfielder Sean Steur's strong substitute display against Everton makes a compelling case for a starting spot against Fulham. Despite playing only 26 minutes in Monday's 1-0 defeat to Everton, the 18-year-old Dutchman completed 20 passes into the final third, more than any other Newcastle player on the pitch.
Jamieson notes that manager Matthias Jaissle has cautiously managed Steur's playing time since his arrival from Ajax. Because Jaissle reportedly views Steur and Nico Gonzalez as having similar playing styles, Jamieson suggests switching to a three-man midfield could be required to accommodate both players.
