The Story in 60 Seconds

Turkish club Besiktas are reportedly preparing an £8.5m bid to sign Newcastle United midfielder Joe Willock during the upcoming January transfer window. The Turkish giants previously attempted to sign the 27-year-old in the summer with an €18 million offer, but the permanent transfer collapsed when manager Matthias Jaissle took charge at St James' Park and chose to keep him.

With Willock approaching the final six months of his contract at the end of the season, Newcastle face the risk of losing him for free next summer. Despite making 11 appearances this season under Jaissle, the club may now consider a January sale.
