What Eddie Howe said about Man Utd behind closed doors speaks volumes

Eddie Howe has emerged as a potential contender to replace Michael Carrick at Manchester United, with the Express highlighting his past motivational speech against the club. The article revisits footage from Newcastle United's 2023 docuseries where Howe used critical comments from then-United manager Erik ten Hag to fire up his squad ahead of a 2-0 victory featuring goals from Joe Willock and Callum Wilson.

Tom Sunderland reports that Carrick is under mounting pressure following a seven-match winless streak, culminating in a 4-1 Champions League defeat to Como. Howe, who left Newcastle in the summer and was replaced by Matthias Jaissle, is framed as a viable candidate whose rare display of raw intensity could appeal to United supporters.
