Nottingham Forest defender Nicolo Savona has returned to training after a seven-month absence caused by a knee injury. Manager Oliver Glasner confirmed the 23-year-old Italian is back participating in partial team sessions with no adverse reaction, targeting match minutes for him during an upcoming international break friendly.
Glasner noted that Savona must be eased in gradually to deload his knee, with hopes of playing 15 to 45 minutes in the friendly. The versatile 6ft 4in defender is viewed as a valuable option at right-back or in a three-man defense once fully fit.
