Argentine giants River Plate are keen to bring Chelsea goalkeeping mainstay Emiliano Martinez back to his homeland.

Argentine club River Plate are reportedly exploring a permanent move for Chelsea goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez in 2027. According to Fichajes, the 34-year-old World Cup winner is seen as a key target to strengthen their squad for the Copa Libertadores.
Martinez joined Chelsea from Aston Villa in August 2026 for approximately €8.7 million on a three-year contract. Any potential transfer depends on Chelsea's plans under manager Xabi Alonso, the emergence of young goalkeeper Mike Penders, and Martinez's willingness to return to Argentina.
