Sunderland return to action on home turf in the Carabao Cup fourth round on Wednesday night…

Sunderland manager Régis Le Bris has provided injury updates on Thomas Meunier and Wilson Isidor ahead of Wednesday's Carabao Cup clash against Brentford. Le Bris hopes Meunier can return to the squad as a substitute after missing time with a hamstring injury suffered against Brighton. A final decision on the Belgian defender's availability will be determined following training sessions early in the week.
A late call will also be made on forward Wilson Isidor, who is recovering from a knock sustained in the same match against Brighton. While Isidor resumed running last week, Le Bris noted the club is on the edge regarding his fitness, suggesting a return against Coventry City on Saturday might be more realistic.
