Opta's statistical model has projected the final Europa League standings, forecasting Sunderland to finish fourth with 16.46 points. In contrast, AC Milan are predicted to place 13th with 13.01 points, while Celtic are projected down in 29th place with 7.39 points.

Sunderland travel to Polish champions Lech Poznan on Thursday looking to maintain their perfect start. Poznan currently sit at the bottom of the table following back-to-back 4-0 defeats against Bayer Leverkusen and Crystal Palace, though Opta ultimately predicts them to finish 25th with 8.30 points.
