Sunderland have criticised the decision to make December's Tyne-Wear derby against Newcastle United at St James' Park a 'bubble fixture'
Sunderland has released a statement expressing disagreement with the decision to designate December's Tyne-Wear derby at Newcastle United as a "bubble fixture." Newcastle's independent Safety Advisory Group determined that all visiting Sunderland supporters must travel to St James' Park via designated official coaches for the match on Sunday, December 6.
While Sunderland confirmed it will comply with the ruling, the club stated that the restrictions limit fans' individual travel choices and create significant inconvenience. Sunderland has requested transparency regarding the Safety Advisory Group's revised risk assessment and is exploring alternative viewing arrangements at the Stadium of Light.
