Why do some Chelsea supporters have mixed feelings about their rendition of the pre-match 'Liquidator' song?

Chelsea supporters are divided over the inclusion of the chant "We hate Tottenham" during the pre-match playback of the Liquidator tune at Stamford Bridge. While the Harry J All Stars track has served as walk-out music for nearly six decades, the anti-Tottenham lyrics emerged roughly 15 years ago and are now voiced during every home fixture.
Traditionalist supporters argue that singing about rivals regardless of the opponent detracts from supporting Chelsea directly and cheapens the club's identity. However, other fans defend the practice, asserting it creates necessary pre-match energy and reflects the intensified modern rivalry between the two London sides.
