Brazilian was in training on Friday but misses huge derby…

Chelsea forward Joao Pedro was left out of the squad to face Tottenham Hotspur at Stamford Bridge after suffering an injury. Manager Xabi Alonso confirmed that the Brazilian has fluid around the injury site and requires further tests to determine the extent of the problem. Pedro faces a race against time to recover ahead of Chelsea's upcoming Carabao Cup fourth-round tie against Liverpool.
Pedro has recorded five goals and three assists across six Premier League appearances this season. In his absence, Geovany Quenda was handed his full Premier League debut in attack alongside Cole Palmer and Morgan Rogers, with Danny Welbeck and Estevao named on the substitutes' bench.
