Roberto De Zerbi is risking a mutiny behind the scenes at Tottenham after what he said following defeat to Aston Villa.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has publicly criticized his squad following a poor start to the 2026/27 campaign. Despite spending nearly £400m on ten summer signings, Tottenham have lost three of their first five Premier League fixtures alongside two scoreless draws, while also suffering an early 3-1 EFL Cup exit against Liverpool.
Following a recent home defeat to Aston Villa, De Zerbi openly singled out £85m signing Mateus Fernandes for his performance. The manager also described his current Tottenham side as the most fragile team he has coached during his 14-year managerial career.
