Tottenham's Mateus Fernandes faces a possible benching; De Zerbi has strong options available.

GiveMeSport's Matt Smith argues that Tottenham manager Roberto De Zerbi should drop midfielder Mateus Fernandes for the upcoming match against Manchester United. Fernandes joined Tottenham from West Ham in a reported club-record £85 million transfer during the summer. Despite high expectations, the 22-year-old midfielder has zero goals and zero assists across five Premier League appearances this season and was substituted at halftime against Aston Villa.
While De Zerbi publicly defended Fernandes as potentially one of the squad's best players, he acknowledged that the midfielder needs time to adapt. Smith suggests alternative tactical options in the number 10 role, highlighting that Mohammed Kudus and Conor Gallagher could step in to replace Fernandes against Manchester United.
