The Story in 60 Seconds

Former Tottenham Hotspur forward Roberto Soldado has revealed that Harry Kane's emergence at the club made his time in London "unbearable" and ultimately "crushed" him. Soldado, who signed for Spurs from Valencia for £27 million in 2013, struggled to find consistent form, scoring just 16 goals in 76 appearances before departing for Villarreal in 2015.

Speaking to Deportes COPE Valencia, Soldado recalled how Kane rapidly surpassed the senior attackers by scoring consistently across all competitions during the 2014-15 season. Kane later became Tottenham's all-time top scorer before transferring to Bayern Munich for £86 million in 2023.
