Jan Paul van Hecke criticizes Andy Robertson’s decision-making against Aston Villa amid concerns over Tottenham’s dressing room harmony.
Tottenham Hotspur defender Jan Paul van Hecke publicly criticized teammate Andy Robertson's decision-making following the team's 3-2 defeat against Aston Villa. Speaking to Dutch outlet Algemeen Dagblad while on international duty, the 26-year-old Dutch center-back expressed frustration with Tottenham's winless Premier League start under manager Roberto De Zerbi.
Van Hecke noted that Robertson should have let the ball go out of play while Micky van de Ven received injury treatment. Instead, Robertson kept the ball in play, leading to a turnover and an Aston Villa goal. Spurs analyst John Wenham expressed concern that publicly airing the grievance could cause dressing room drama.
