Manchester City could have had a significant impact on Tottenham and their players during the seasons in which they breached financial rules

Tottenham Hotspur players may have missed out on up to £200 million in bonuses due to Manchester City's financial breaches, according to finance expert Kieran Maguire. The Premier League announced that an independent panel found Manchester City guilty of 114 financial charges covering a nine-year period between 2009 and 2018. City maintain their innocence and have until Friday to lodge an appeal ahead of an upcoming sanctions hearing.
Maguire calculated that Big Six players typically earn 20 to 25 percent bonuses for Champions League qualification, equating to roughly £50 million per squad per season. Tottenham finished outside Champions League qualification behind Manchester City on four occasions across that period, denying their players substantial performance paydays.
