Supporters were left disappointed when the starting lineups were announced on Monday evening.

Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi explained that midfielder Mateus Fernandes was left out of the starting lineup against Coventry because of the birth of his newborn son. The personal milestone limited the 22-year-old midfielder to only two days of training leading up to the fixture, ruling out a place in the initial eleven.
Tottenham secured a 3-1 victory over Coventry, with James Maddison scoring after returning for his first league start since April 2025. Fernandes featured as a second-half substitute to help close out the match, while Dejan Kulusevski also made his return following 526 days out injured.
