Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi revealed that he considered handing 18-year-old Luca Williams-Barnett a starting Premier League debut against Chelsea at Stamford Bridge. Although the teenager was an unused substitute in that match, he eventually made his league debut off the bench in Tottenham's subsequent fixture against Crystal Palace.
De Zerbi described Williams-Barnett as a special talent and expressed a desire for the youngster to learn from senior players James Maddison, Andy Robertson, and Ben Davies. With Williams-Barnett highly rated among teammates and club staff, he is expected to see more first-team playing time as the season progresses.
