Tottenham Hotspur head coach Roberto De Zerbi has granted a week off to players remaining at Hotspur Way during the three-week international break. The decision comes despite the team suffering a 3-2 defeat to Aston Villa, which left Tottenham at the bottom of the Premier League table on a five-game winless run.
While 14 players have joined their national teams, those staying behind will return to training next week to prepare for their match against Manchester United on October 10. The club had planned the week off prior to the loss against Aston Villa, and De Zerbi chose to stick with the schedule despite his previous concerns over squad fitness.
